Orbital Technologies Establishes Scholarship at UVic

Vancouver, BC – April 25, 2005 – Orbital Technologies Inc. announced today that it has established the Orbital Technologies Inc. Scholarship with the Faculty of Engineering at the University of Victoria. The scholarship is made possible by a $10,000 endowment, providing a legacy to the University.

The Scholarship will provide an award to one student each year entering third or fourth year in the Bachelor of Science Major or Honours program in Computer Science, or in the Bachelor of Software Engineering program at the University. The amount of the Scholarship will vary based on money available from the endowment each year.

“The University of Victoria is an outstanding school with outstanding computer science and software engineering programs,” said Amyn Rajan of Orbital. “Orbital Technologies is very pleased to be able to help support development of software engineering talent within BC.”

Applicants will be evaluated based on academic performance and community service. Applications should include a reference letter documenting community service, as well as a resume chronicling volunteer service in the community. When possible, preference will be given to a female student. The first scholarship is expected to be granted in September 2006.

Scholarship is a very welcome, added incentive for students to choose the University of Victoria, and specifically the Computer Science and the Software Engineering programs,” said Michael Miller, Dean of Engineering at the University of Victoria. “We thank companies, like Orbital Technologies, for their continued support of our University and our students.”

Applicants can obtain more information about the scholarship from the Student Awards and Financial Aid office at the University of Victoria.
