Vancouver Software Product Development Services Firm Awards SFU Scholarship
Orbital Technologies Inc. Announces Second Annual Award of Its SFU Computing Science Scholarship
Vancouver, BC – October 26, 2006 – Orbital
Technologies Inc., a leading Vancouver-based provider of outsourced
software product development services, announced today the second
annual cash award of its Orbital Technologies Scholarship in
Computing Science at Simon Fraser University.
The second annual cash award was presented to Mr. Vincent Chu,
in his fourth year completing his Bachelor of Science in Computing
Science at SFU. Mr. Chu received the award in recognition of
his notable academic achievement and community service.
“All of us at Orbital congratulate Vincent on receiving
the award,” said Bill Dorfmann, VP Engineering at Orbital
Technologies Inc. “Vincent, as the scholarship’s
second recipient to date, is an outstanding example of upcoming
local development talent. Orbital’s scholarship was established
to recognize and promote BC’s software development talent,
and we’re proud to have many BC educated software developers
in our organization, as we continue to hire top-notch talent
from our local universities.”
The Orbital Technologies Scholarship in Computing Science at
SFU is funded by a $10,000 endowment by Orbital to the University.
The scholarship provides one student each year with a cash award
the may be used to help pay tuition, books, or living expenses.
Recipients must be an approved Computing Science major, demonstrating
strong academic performance and documented community service.

Orbital Technologies Scholarship in Computing Science on behalf
of Orbital,” said Preet Virk, Manager of Awards Fundraising
at SFU. “Community commitment and academic recognition
of companies like Orbital help foster industry ties and provide
welcome support for our students.”
The Orbital Technologies Scholarship in Computing Science at
SFU is one of three similar scholarships established by the company
at BC universities, including the University of British Columbia
and the University of Victoria.
