Orbital Technologies Opens New Office
Vancouver, BC – December 3, 2007 – Orbital Technologies Inc., a leading Vancouver-based software development services firm, announced today the opening of its new office on Vancouver’s False Creek south slope. The company’s new office marks its relocation from downtown Vancouver’s Yaletown neighborhood to the office complex it acquired in February 2007.
“We’re very excited to announce our move into our new offices along Vancouver’s booming Broadway corridor,” said Debra Small, Vice President of Finance at Orbital Technologies. “This area is undergoing tremendous growth, especially with the new Vancouver Airport Rapid Transit Line due to complete before the 2010 Winter Olympics. We feel that our new office is better located to provide a quality work environment for our people and space for growth.”
With renovations recently completed, the company’s new office meets all the requirements of a busy and growing high tech company. Small noted that special attention was placed on providing the company’s software developers and staff with private and shared offices, facilities like on-site showers and games amenities, and the requisite data, technical and security components needed to run a high-tech business.
The company purchased the building in February 2007 after an extensive search to locate the best space to meet its growth and needs.
Vancouver’s Broadway corridor has seen extensive growth and construction in recent months – most notably construction of Translink’s rapid transit Canada Line in preparation for the 2010 Winter Olympics and new commercial and residential developments at Broadway and Cambie.
“Availability is becoming increasingly scarce and prices have increased all over Vancouver,” said Colin Scarlett, Associate Vice President of Colliers International Vancouver office, the firm that helped broker Orbital’s building acquisition. “A company’s quest to find the right space can be a challenge. In Orbital’s case, it had very specific technical requirements to enable operation of its business. Colliers was able to source a number of locations, and ultimately, acquiring the building along the Broadway corridor provided the best value.”

Orbital’s new office is located at 938 West 8th Avenue in Vancouver.
